  • Older travelers

Then furnishings and the ambience of the restored Victorian house. The service was discreet and attentive, and there was a jacuzzi bath with the room. The breakfast was of a very high standard.

We were happy with all aspects of our stay.

  • Single

The room was very beautifully designed and furnished. The rug floor felt thick and homy and the total look of the house is absolutaly beautiful.

It was hard to find - the house is hidden behind bushes....

  • Older travelers

Historical house was interesting. Breakfast was excellent. It would have been nice to have a pot of fresh coffee early in the morning. Instant doesn't cut it.

It was very noisy during the evening. Probably this is not the usual case but on this evening there was an altercation in the street and I called the police at 2:00am. It went on for almost an hour. Sleeping through it was not an option.

  • Group of friends

The Amethyst Inn had the best customer service I have ever experienced at a Bed and Breakfast. The rooms were comfortable, very clean and had lots of character. Also, the breakfast was unbelievable! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway in Victoria.

  • Couple

My husband and I travel considerably, but we have never had such a lovely experience as we had at the Amethyst Inn. The historical building is delightful, the rooms are absolutely beautiful, but the service is unsurpassed. The staff are so incredibly helpful and accommodating. Carlson and Serene went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Breakfast was a gourmet treat which filled us up until dinnertime, in the evening sherry is available as an aperitif and an array of teas and coffee are offered for guests to sample as they please. The secure parking behind electric gates is offered at no additional charge, a wonderful perk in Victoria with the cost of parking , not to mention the peace of mind especially when you are renting a vehicle. We were able to walk into town, to Beacon Hill park and the waterfront.Whether you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a business person looking for a peaceful haven this really is THE place to stay in Victoria

This is a first class luxury hotel. The breakfast was good but not enough good given. The beds were huge and comfortable. There was not enough soap bars. I dont know who owns the hotel but all I saw were Chinese girls staffing the place who were wither hired foreighn workers or very very very recent immigrants. The internet access was wireless but was easy to access.

I though that the hotel was double the price that it whould be .

  • Older travelers

The security was excellent for the hotel and parking. The staff were very attentive , courteous, and efficient. The room we had was very beautiful and had all the things we look for: a ccmfortable bed, two reading lamps, a nice TV,a large and well equiped bathroom, a small fridge. Due to the stairs it would not be suitable for people with difficulties with stairs.. We had no problems with them and look forward to this being our regular place to stay while visiting Victoria and will recommend it to friends. We left sun glasses behind and were contacted by the staffabout it.Thsi is highly comendable and appreciated.

  • Older travelers

Amethyst Inn was a lovely place to stay with great food and a very accommodating staff. We enjoyed our stay there very much. Thank you!

  • Couple

The Victorian ambiance and its amazing cleanliness. Very romantic.

  • Older travelers

A classic 1800's old house converted into a bed and breakfast. Well appointed unique rooms and a convient location. The service was excellent and the breakfast was good. Highly reccomend.

  • Couple

    Great quality. Very nice.

No a/c in room. Very uncomfortable. Spoilt was was otherwise a wonderful trip.

  • Older travelers

A beautiful heritage house. Service from Shelley was impeccable. Great secure parking, immaculately clean room with every amenity provided.

  • Older travelers

. We were first assigned a room in a small outbuilding. The room was not adequate, After complaining we were given a room in the large house. The second room was very pleasant. If you have a problem with stairs, this is not the place for you.The breakfast was very enjoyable, not the typical full English breakfast as advertised..The staff were very friendly, and the Inn is a beautiful old house. The shower is somewhat awkward for seniors.

The first room we were given was very small. It had no chair to sit on. The remote for the tv didn't work. It looked like it was decorated in garage sale items. The second room was the Cambridge, and was very pleasant. I think if you are going to be given an inferior room that should be the picture shown in the add. Then a person has the choice of booking it or not.

The staff were attentive, the breakfast was superb, much attention to detail; I have already recommended this inn to friends and family.

  • Older travelers

The Amethyst Inn was very pleasing to the eye and senses. The decor, antiques, and ambience were lovely! Our room was at the very tip top; lots of steep stairs! The room itself was very nice, except the faucet for the sink had slow running water; just a trickle. Also the room was hot and stuffy at night due to the small window and no breeze, however there was a fan. Breakfast was superb and delicious! I would highly recommend this Inn.
